Christine Sajecki earned her BFA in painting with a minor in poetry
from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2001. She currently lives
and works at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson as an artist-in-residence.
Her paintings and drawings focus on the human figure, inspired by moments
of tension, beauty, and oddity. She works with a range of media from
encaustic (melted and pigmented beeswax) to charcoal, graphite, and
chalkboard paint. Her work has been included in many juried and solo
exhibitions throughout the east coast and in Washington state. She has
been a guest lecturer and teacher at the Clayton State University in
Atlanta, Georgia; the Greenbelt Community Center in Greenbelt, Maryland;
and at the Harford Community College in Harford County, Maryland. As
an artist-in-residence at the Creative Alliance she also teaches workshops
in her studio to adults and children.
